Business Development Representative

This is an entry level position for someone that is eager to learn about the tech industry and take on new challenges. 

This is a client facing position that will require the ability to communicate clearly and effectively via email and telephone. 

As a Business Development Representative (BDR), your responsibility is to identify potential prospects and begin the process of fostering a relationship.

When a project comes to fruition, you work directly with our Account Managers to facilitate the sale of software products or professional services projects.

Overview

Critical Design Associates is looking to expand our account management teams. We are seeking motivated, organized, and outgoing individuals in the Austin, TX areas.

This team member will work directly with our regional account managers to help develop new and existing customer relationships in their respective regions.

The overall goal of the sales and marketing team is to develop new business and to maintain existing customer relationships. A sales team is typically comprised of the following team members: Outside Sales, Inside Sales (BDR), and Sales Engineering.

Your role will be to seek new business opportunities by contacting and developing relationships with potential and existing customers.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree, preferably in business administration or technical discipline is preferred but not required (a combination of education and experience will be considered)
  • Lacks fear of cold calling
  • Dissatisfied with mediocrity
  • Experience leveraging CRM tools such as Zoho
  • Knowledge of Virtualization, Cloud Computing, Security and Compliance marketplaces
  • Self-starter with excellent communication
  • Team player that will bring out the best in his/her co-workers
  • Previous experience with information technology system technical sales
  • IT sales certifications a strong plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Excellent electronic correspondence skills, with knowledge of basic business research tools
  • Ability to adapt to changes in roles and responsibilities; ability to work independently with limited direction in a fast-paced environment; must be a high-energy, motivated self-starter
  • Ability to travel up to 30%

Duties & Responsibilites

Generating attendance for live and web-based marketing events using multiple forms of communications including but not limited to the following:

  • Cold-Calling
  • Email
  • Direct Mail
  • Digital Marketing
  • Social Media Marketing

Other Duties Include:

  • Setting up customer meetings for introductions and discovery of new opportunities.
  • Capturing or updating customer information for use with our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
  • Performing BDR functions to develop customer sales and services opportunities. This includes meeting with customers to establish requirements and needs, developing and delivering quotes, and following up with the customer to close the opportunity.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with customers and manufacturers.
  • Comprehend virtualization, security and compliance solutions to include but not limited to the following: Citrix, Ivanti, Tufin and others. Achievement of certifications will be required.
  • Take ownership for increasing gross profits year over year.
  • Coordinate sales activities with partnership vendors/distributors to identify and close new business.
  • Call prospects to identify appropriate contacts, qualify and drive leads through the sales pipeline.
  • Providing support to qualified prospects and customers including follow up, product information, quotations and closures
  • Able to handle rejection and maintain strong focus
