Sales Account Manager

General Description:

The overall goal of the sales and marketing team is to develop new business and to maintain existing customer relationships. A sales team is typically comprised of the following team members: Outside Sales, Inside Sales, and Sales Engineering. The Sales Account Manager (SAM) is responsible for directly supporting the Critical Design’s sales objectives and initiatives to customers and prospects and to balance it with marketing efforts to generate prospects for sales. This role will require prospecting within an assigned territory/vertical to uncover net new opportunities. The SAM will identify, develop and close opportunities with new customers, manage forecasts on a quarterly basis and track customer data. In addition, the SAM will work closely with his/her team and work cooperatively leveraging various partnerships to improve the velocity of business and to create solutions that best serve the interests of the customers for Critical Design.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create a dynamic, fast paced and growing sales environment
  • Identification, engagement and relationship management of key partners and customers
  • Results oriented to achieving profit objectives and profitable sales growth
  • Communicates regularly with sales management to provide management/leadership relative to our sales management model
  • Participate and Lead/facilitate, at times, in the monthly Sales Meetings
  • Continuously coordinate, edit and communicate industry Best Practices
  • Provide regular feedback on successes and opportunities for improvement to management on regional and local sales
  • Continually maintain a healthy pipeline of interested prospects at all times
  • Prospect and develop sales leads into new business
  • Drive results relative to cross selling, team selling, and referrals
  • Articulate the business value that Critical Design’s solutions bring to a customer
  • Sell Critical Design’s comprehensive enterprise level solutions
  • Be accountable for acquiring net new business and perform according to established sales goals and objectives
  • Navigate the lifecycle of a deal
  • Develop and deliver presentations to prospects and customers
  • Take ownership for increasing gross profits year over year
  • Continuously coordinate the development of all statement of work processes and procedures
  • Coordinates sales and marketing initiatives and niche programs in accordance with budgeted objectives to obtain maximum profitability. Partner with the technical staff to ensure the adoption of the “technology enabled” strategy by sales management.
  • Continuously assist with coordinating the development of all Marketing events and promotions
  • Responsible for communication with prospects and lead follow up through our website and Hubspot marketing software
  • Responsible for the ongoing monitoring of Hubspot
  • Utilize company’s social media outlets to communicate with customers and prospects (Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin)
  • Utilize company’s blog site to generate prospects
  • Work with digital marketing team on campaigns and events
  • Have the ability to formulate and drive new and unique marketing campaigns
  • Drive demand and attendance for marketing initiatives (i.e. campaigns and events)
  • Conduct market research, as needed, to support business development to identify viable opportunities for professional services and product solutions
  • Manage forecasts, close deals, and track customer data using our CRM system
  • Comprehend virtualization, security and compliance solutions to include but not limited to: Citrix, VMWare, Ivanti/AppSense, Nutanix, Bromium and others. Achievement of sales certifications will be required.
  • Develop a solid working knowledge of product/service solution offerings and how they resolve the business challenges that the potential customer is experiencing
  • Maximize coverage within the assigned region and penetrate organizations with full solution offerings
  • Coordinate sales activities with partnership vendors/distributors to identify and close new business
  • Initiate telephone and other forms of communication with potential prospects from developed forms of lead generation lists
  • Call prospects to identify appropriate contacts, qualify and drive leads through the sales pipeline
  • Providing support to qualified prospects and customers including follow up, product information, quotations and closures
  • Responsible for creating pipeline and forecasting data
  • Providing account opportunity reports as needed
  • Ability to develop a rapport with technical resources in a customer organization
  • Ability to build and lead a team of inside sales representatives
  • Ability to overcome obstacles and objections
  • Able to handle rejection and maintain strong focus

Qualifications & requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree, preferably in business administration, marketing or a technical discipline is preferred but not required (a combination of education and experience will be considered)
  • 5+ years of successful quota-carrying sales experience preferred
  • Self-starter with excellent communication
  • Dissatisfied with mediocrity
  • Lacks fear of cold calling
  • Knowledge of Digital Marketing, Social Media networks, SEO and effective campaign marketing a plus
  • Experience leveraging CRM tools such as Hubspot
  • Knowledge of Virtualization, Cloud Computing, Security and Compliance marketplaces
  • Team player that will bring out the best in his/her co-workers
  • Two + years of experience selling enterprise software (virtualization solutions from VMware, Microsoft or Citrix or similar area of infrastructure computing or security/compliance solutions)
  • Previous experience with information technology system technical sales
  • IT sales certifications a strong plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Excellent electronic correspondence skills, with knowledge of basic business research tools
  • Ability to adapt to changes in roles and responsibilities; ability to work independently with limited direction in a fast-paced environment; must be a high-energy, motivated self-starter
