Senior Consultant (Citrix Engineer)

Overview

We are looking for a Citrix Engineer to support our managed services clients. The Citrix Engineer will be responsible for supporting any of the following work efforts on a daily basis:

  • Projects: Administration/Support of Projects
  • Maintenance: Administration/Support of Maintenance
  • Support: Administration/Support of application or system related issue resolution.

The Citrix Engineer would be responsible for:

  • Leading technical assessment, research, and testing of new technologies as requested using client server design, automation, and scripting best practices and procedures.
  • Lead efforts related to implementing, enhancing, supporting, and testing all Citrix related systems and platforms used throughout the enterprise.
  • Responsible for handling L2, and L3 issues reported by the Applications & Infrastructure support personnel, this may include, but not restricted to the following:
  • Receive calls, emails and web-tickets for end users and other Agency Service Desks / Help Desks, and create Incident tickets or Service Request tickets, logging all pertinent Information.
  • Tracking and classifying incoming incidents or service requests, attempting initially solutions.
  • Provides initial assessment of categorization and prioritization for reported Incidents and Service Requests and provides initial support, targeting a higher level of first contact resolution.
  • Ensures Incidents and Service Requests are properly escalated and assigned to appropriate support groups.
  • Perform hierarchical escalation to Service Desk Management and Incident Management
  • Provide communication to end users concerning the status of Incidents, Service Requests

Enterprise Application Packaging and Deployment for the following:

  • Microsoft Office and Add-Ins
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer and Add-Ins
  • Adobe Acrobat Reader, Flash, Shockwave
  • Third-party client/server applications

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree course work in Computer Science, Business Management or equivalent education and related training.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years’ experience with Citrix technologies
  • Citrix Certified Professional – Virtualization
  • Citrix Certified Associate – Networking
  • Minimum of 4-6 years of related experience with distributed systems in Information Technology and desired skills.
  • A comprehensive understanding of applied enterprise computing technology.
  • Experience in an Operations or Technology environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access).
  • Familiarity with Browser technologies such as Microsoft IE, Google Chrome, Firefox, etc.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills, along with patience, a positive, customer-friendly attitude and the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Excellent Time Management skills
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Working knowledge of linear troubleshooting
  • Ability to document issue cause(s) and resolution

  • Citrix Certified Professional – Virtualization
  • Citrix Certified Associate – Networking
  • 2-4 years of experience performing similar Citrix activities

  • Ability to travel when required
